GENERAL MEETING via Zoom
Saturday, January 15, 1–4 PM
GUEST SPEAKER: Sarah Solomon, Head of Knitwear Design, Harrisville Designs Inc.
Sarah will share her evolution from dressmaker to knitter to Director of Knitwear for the historic Harrisville mill. Operating in a small brick village in New Hampshire since 1794, this water-powered mill has been in the Colony family for 50 years and allows many of our favorite designers (Jill Draper, Karida Collins, Ann Weaver, …) to produce high quality yarn that is Made in the USA. Sarah will present the Zoom version of a fashion show to display her incredible sweater designs and the stunning array of natural yarns produced by Harrisville. Finally, Sarah will educate us on the “fleece to fabric” progression; what goes on behind the scenes and how we end up with the beautiful product Harrisville sells to customers.
