September 2022 Meeting

GENERAL MEETING

Saturday, Sept 10, 1–4 PM

GUEST SPEAKER: Rebecca Kevelson
The Clinton Hill Cashmere Company

Clinton Hill Cashmere Company (CHCC) is the brainchild of knitwear designer Rebecca Kevelson. Rebecca began knitting at the age of 4 and studied costume design and fashion in college. After graduating, she worked at String Yarns for seven years followed by Vogue Knitting for two years.

In 2017, Rebecca launched CHCC, a purveyor of 100% cashmere yarn from one of Italy’s most exclusive mills. CHCC was rated the BEST cashmere yarn by New York Magazine. Accompanying the yarns are exclusive designs with fashion forward, yet classic styling.

Presentation
Rebecca will show us samples of her newest designs and yarn and will demonstrate how to block and protect our cashmere knitwear so they last long and retain their shape. She will offer a discount on CHCC yarn. A discount code for online purchases will be emailed after the meeting to members who cannot attend.

Show and Tell
Welcome back to Show & Tell. We cannot wait to see what you’ve been knitting during the summer.

Guests are Welcome
We’re thrilled to continue to welcome guests to BAKG meetings. As usual, a guest’s first visit is free. Subsequent visits are $10. This fee may be applied to annual dues, if paid on the meeting day.

Book Sale
We will once again have a sale table as you enter the Social Hall for some great bargains on books. Please remember to bring cash or checks as we cannot process electronic payment.

COVID Policy Update

The venue continues to require face masks. Check-in will remain upstairs at the building entrance. Please note that BAKG reserves the right to change our COVID policy as the situation evolves, and in compliance with NYSEC rules.
There will be no Charity Knitting, Beginners Circle or KALs at this meeting. There will be a drop-off box for charity items.
